Shane Black’s ‘The Nice Guys’ Looks Like it Could Be Amazing

The Nice Guys film

There’s a very special place in my heart reserved for Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, which I believe (and obviously I am correct) is one of the best dark comedies of all-time. Its director, Shane Black, who you might be more familiar with for his work on Iron Man 3, is returning with the hilarious-looking The Nice Guys in 2016.

It looks so good that I am even able to overlook my irrational fear of Russell Crowe for it. The Australian Marmite stars alongside Ryan Gosling as one of the big screen’s unlikeliest odd couples as they work together to track down a missing daughter.

The highlights from the trailer include Gosling struggling with a bathroom stall door after Crowe breaks his arm, Gosling’s daughter being reprimanded for “and stuff”, and Gosling sounding like a Zubat for the majority of the three minutes. Basically, Ryan Gosling is great and this could be the film that breaks him back into the public consciousness after a bit of a streak in the cinema ether.

The Nice Guys is released in May 2016.
