While it’s not perhaps the most necessary remaster ever, there’s no doubt that millions of players will be excited to play The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered on their PS5, especially with all of its new additions, like the Lost Levels and No Return roguelike mode. If you already own the PS4 version, you can upgrade to the PS5 remaster for £10/$10 USD/$20 AUD.
To upgrade from your PS4 version of The Last of Us Part 2, you will first off have to wait until launch day on January 19th, 2024, as there’s no way of pre-ordering the upgrade.
If you have the original PS4 game in your library digitally, from January 19th, just search “The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered” on your PS5’s store and it should simply appear as an option. If it doesn’t, find the regular page and then select the three dot button next to the price and select one of the options there for the the upgrade page. Pay the fee and then get downloading The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered on your PS5.
If you have the original game as a physical disc, insert the game disc (not the data disc) and just search “The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered” on your PS5’s store from January 19th. This tends to be a bit finickier than a digital upgrade, so you will probably have to select the three dot button next to the price and select one of the options there for upgrade page, or you can hit “View Product” to see other pages. Pay the fee and then get downloading The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered on your PS5. Bear in mind that you will always need to have the PS4 disc for The Last of Us Part 2 inserted if you want to play the remastered version.
