The Last of Us 2’s Release Date Looks Like It’s Been Leaked (UPDATED)

It's finally happening.

The Last of us 2

UPDATE: Looks like this release date from this retailer has been floating around for forever, so it may not be true.

ORIGINAL STORY: We’ve heard a lot of proposed and rumoured release dates for The Last of Us 2 (Part II, if we’re being proper), but none have come true to date. The latest, however, seems like the most viable to date, pointing to an early 2020 release date for Naughty Dog’s much-vaunted sequel.

According to Swiss online retailer Softridge, The Last of Us 2 will launch of February 28th, 2020. The leak comes from Nibel on Twitter.

What makes this more certifiable is that Softridge have a shipping date of a day prior to the proposed release and that they also have different editions of the game available.

The website is currently suffering some technical issues, presumably due to the thousands of TLOU who are piling on to their servers. Don’t expect the info to still be there when the site comes back online properly, however.

Here’s the description for the product, which we just popped through Google Translate so apologies in advance.

Five years later …

A nerve-wracking, shocking and emotional adventure awaits the player – Ellie and Joel return in the sequel to the acclaimed game of Naughty Dog and are once again on an epic journey.

Features:

• An intense story driven by strong characters, perfectly orchestrated by the hit studio Naughty Dog
• Outstanding setting
• Unpredictable encounters with enemies through the world class AI system
• Unpredictable single-player story mode, in the style of a Hollywood blockbuster
• Thanks to state-of-the-art motion capture, emotions are transported even more realistically

It’s worth bearing in mind that this isn’t officially official yet, though we may hear more at the next State of Play on the 24th, which we already know will feature The Last of Us 2.
