Excitement has been gripping the Elder Scrolls fandom since it was announced that The Elder Scrolls 6 was finally in development. The reveal came almost seven years after Skyrim was released, all the way back in November 2011.

It has now been almost 11 years since Skyrim’s launch, and although fans have received DLC, Special Editions, and a virtual reality version for the acclaimed game, they are eager for TES6’s release. Unfortunately, almost no information has been revealed about The Elder Scrolls 6 since its teaser trailer was shown at E3 in 2018.

The Elder Scrolls fandom wants answers to their questions, including TES6’s release date and what platforms the game will be on, with PlayStation users apprehensively awaiting their fate concerning the game’s launch. Will it be coming to PS5 and PS4?

About The Elder Scrolls 6

Gamers are thrilled about the return to Tamriel. Unfortunately, there won’t be much information about The Elder Scrolls 6 until after the 2023 launch of Starfield, which is Bethesda’s newest sci-fi RPG.

The Elder Scrolls 6 teaser trailer was introduced by Bethesda’s Todd Howard during 2018’s E3. With no other information to go off of, fans have been meticulously combing it over for any possible hidden secrets about TES6. Howard later mentioned that the teaser trailer does indeed contain clues to the game’s location.

The most popular theory is that the setting is in High Rock, simply because the trailer shows rocks and is up high. Hammerfell has also been suggested as the setting of The Elder Scrolls 6 due to a New Year’s post from Bethesda at the end of 2020. The image shows a map with candles placed on it, possibly hinting at the setting, since one of the candles sits right below Hammerfell.

Lastly, fans have latched onto a possible TES6 Easter egg in Starfield’s trailer from E3 2021. A small scratch on the spaceship’s control board looks eerily similar to a drawing of a landmass, suspiciously like Tamriel’s Iliac Bay. It’s a real “blink, and you’ll miss it” moment, but developers love to throw small hints like this into trailers.

Will The Elder Scrolls 6 Be Available on PlayStation?

Currently, there is no release date for The Elder Scrolls 6 and it’s most likely years from its launch date. While fans are patiently waiting for any announcement about the game, there is bad news for PlayStation users.

The Elder Scrolls 6 won’t be released on the PS5 or the PS4. It will only be launched on Xbox Series X & S and PC as Microsoft now owns Bethesda. Although other Elder Scrolls games were released to PlayStation and Xbox consoles, TES6 won’t be.

During the The Elder Scrolls 6 announcement, it was assumed that the game would be coming to PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. However, Microsoft acquired Bethesda in March of 2021, solidifying TES6’s fate. Phil Spencer, the head of Xbox, confirmed in November that The Elder Scrolls 6 would be exclusive for Xbox and PC, with it also coming to Xbox Game Pass.
