The Division 2’s Creative Director Julian Gerighty has shared a tweet speculating on the idea of a single-player The Division experience, gauging fan interest in a solo adventure set in the post-apocalyptic world.
The original tweet came courtesy of Tim Spencer, a level designer for TT Games, who posted a short thread about the potential story implications that could be explored in a single-player experience. Particularly, Tim mentions the mental anguish that could come from agents abandoning their friends and family in their time of need as the SHD makes the call.
I love the idea of a single player narrative driven spin off of @TheDivisionGame. Focusing on an agent trying to get home to their family after being sent to NYC, during the SHD blackout from the fall of DC. TLOU x Division. @jgerighty

Julian himself retweeted the thread with a simple “Thoughts?”, before replying to the tweet stating that it would seem that it’s “not something that people are violently against”. While a simple tweet is in no way confirmation that Ubisoft are now all hands on deck making a single-player experience for the ages, we’re hoping it’s an idea that Ubisoft consider in the future.
Apparently not something people are violently against :)
