Oppenheimer also wants to bring a new love interest into the mix. “I want to see a new love interest for Lucy: a new, complicated, messy thing to go alongside her never-ending thing with Stephen,” the showrunner stated in the same interview. Considering we only saw Lucy’s first year in college, they could go down this route when they explore more of her college life.
Meanwhile, the present timeline also revealed Stephen was engaged to Lydia, Lucy’s best friend from her hometown. How will Lucy handle this? We’ll have to wait and see when Season 2 premieres.
