Teen Titans Go! To The Movies Trailer Pokes Fun At Batman & Deadpool

Although he might be best known for voicing the Lego incarnation of Batman, Will Arnett can also be heard providing the voice of Deathstroke in the new trailer for Teen Titans Go! to the Movies. You would be forgiven for confusing Deathstroke with Marvel’s Deadpool, because the two characters share an uncanny resemblance. And yes, even the other characters in the trailer mistake Deathstroke for Deadpool. And that’s just one of the many, many examples of pop culture references that can be found in the two-minute trailer, which you can view below.

In addition to revealing that Deathstroke will be the film’s main villain, the trailer also finally allows us to hear Nicolas Cage as Superman, in addition to giving us some brief glimpses of Batman, a character who we previously weren’t sure would be showing up. And if you look carefully at the new poster below, you can also catch a glimpse of Mr. Freeze in the top right-hand corner.

You also have to praise Warner Bros. and DC for not being afraid to poke fun at themselves, even going as far as having Green Lantern say at 0:30 that there was a Green Lantern movie, but he doesn’t talk about it. You might also notice that a poster parodying Batman v Superman appears in the background at 1:01, with the subtitle ‘Yawn of Justice’. If that doesn’t make you laugh, nothing ever will.

Teen Titans Go! to the Movies is being co-directed by Aaron Horvath and Peter Rida Michail, and it also features the voices of Scott Menville, Greg Cipes, Khary Payton, Tara Strong, Hynden Walch, and Kristen Bell. It opens in wide release in the US on July 27, and in the UK on August 3.
