Team17 have announced that their desert island survival game, aptly named The Survivalists, will be launching on PC via Steam, PS4, Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch on October 9th, with pre-orders now live on Steam, Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch, while PC and Switch players can play the free the demo to get a taste of the game ahead of launch. That said, if console gaming isn’t for you, you’ll be pleased to hear that The Survivalists will also be making its way to the Apple Arcade subscription service as a mobile gaming exclusive. This will allow players to enjoy The Survivalists on their iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and Mac, which should do a decent job of filling the hole left by Fortnite. No release date has been confirmed for the Apple Arcade version, but it’s coming soon.
If you’re confused by what the hell The Survivalists, you’ll find yourself on a desert island with up to three friends in local and online play, and you’ll have to craft and survive the randomly generated environment, befriending monkeys along the way. Speaking of simians, pre-ordering the game will unlock the Monkey Business pack, which grants more cosmetics for your and your monkey friends.
