Bandai Namco have just “revealed” the next character joining the ever growing Soulcalibur VI roster, and it’s the ninja Taki. If you’re wondering exactly why we’re saying “revealed” like that, it’s because the trailer was leaked ahead of time yesterday. But it’s fine, no one saw.
Taki is an outcast of the Fu-Ma clan and the most skilled adept of the Musoh-Battoh-Ryu style, a combination of slicing strikes and lightning fast kicks.#SoulCaliburVI is coming in 2018 on PS4, XB1 and PC. pic.twitter.com/zXgVyPeW4T

Like most of the returning characters, Taki appears to retain a lot of her signature moves and style. As a ninja, she’s naturally got access to some quick knife attacks, punishing kicks and more flippy shit than a Will Ospreay vs Ricochet match. Ah, Taki, it’s like you never left.
Unfortunately, nothing yet has been mentioned about the rumoured leak that came out on Monday that pointed towards a September release for Soulcalibur VI, with the above tweet and trailer sticking with the vague 2018 release. Our best guess is that we won’t hear anything until E3, where Bandai and Project Soul will confirm that Maxi is a playable character and everything will be right with the world. Seriously, if Maxi isn’t in Soulcalibur VI, I’m going to be like a fish out of water.
We had a chance to play a build of Soulcalibur VI at a press event a few months ago, and we loved it so much that we ended up ignoring all the other games available. Oops:
The problem is: once I started playing, I kept playing. I couldn’t stop playing. The tendrils of addiction boroughed into me like spikes, and I was okay with it. However, before I knew it, it was 10pm. Closing time. My long awaited reunion with Soulcalibur terminated before its time. Meanwhile, the likes of New Gundam Breaker and Little Witch Academia were left neglected. I wish I could say I was sorry, but I’m not. I needed my Soulcalibur fix, and SCVI left me more than satisfied.
Will you be picking up Soulcalibur VI when it launches this year? Excited for Taki? Sound off in the comments below, and check out 11-11: Memories Retold, another game that Bandai Namco are working on.Â
