Switch Fighter Brawlout Hits A Huge Sales Milestone

Brawlout

I never would have thought that a game about a giant four-armed frog would be a commercial success, but that’s exactly what’s happened with Brawlout, which has sold over 50,000 copies on the Nintendo Switch just two weeks after it was released on the system.

Developer and publisher Angry Mob Games announced this achievement on Twitter, with an image of Paco the boxing frog thanking fans for their support. If you haven’t already, you can get in on the action by purchasing Brawlout from the Nintendo eShop.

Brawlout has been available on Steam since last April, and is set to arrive on PS4 and Xbox One sometime this year. Clearly inspired by Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. series, the 2D fighter received mostly positive reviews from critics, and while 50,000 copies isn’t exactly a number worthy of Call of Duty, it’s still an impressive amount for an original IP in today’s crowded marketplace.

It’s only a matter of time before Nintendo announces a proper Smash Bros. game for the Switch, so in the meantime, Brawlout will have to do. And it’s undeniably a very pretty looking game, so you’ll have some decent scenery to look at whilst you bash in your opponents’ faces.
