Switch Exclusive Action Platformer Castle Of Heart Coming This Year

There have been an absolute ton of indie games released on the Switch thus far, although not many of them have the distinction of being exclusives. And that’s where Castle of Heart comes in.

The side-scrolling adventure is being developed by Polish studio 7Levels exclusively for Nintendo’s seventh home console. In the game, you play as a knight who has been turned to stone by an evil sorcerer, meaning that you’ll have to fight your way through twenty grueling levels as you make your way to the sorcerer’s castle to force him to undo the spell. Because you’re literally made of stone, you’ll need to constantly defeat enemies in order to keep your strength up and to prevent your body from disintegrating. If you lose too much energy, your limbs will start to fall off, but at least you’ll have over fifty weapons to choose from as you slay your foes.

Judging by the images on the game’s website, the main protagonist will be a real badass, even if he is a walking statue.

Castle of Heart will last for around seven hours in length, and will be released on the Switch eShop in the first quarter of 2018. From what we’ve seen so far, the game looks a lot like a 2D version of Dark Souls, and that can only be a good thing. Let’s just pretend that Slashy Souls never happened.
