There’s a big old ocean to explore in Subnautica: Below Zero, which is why you will want to unlock the ability to swim faster so that you can venture further distances at a time.

Luckily, it’s quite easy and something you should be able to do within five minutes of playing Below Zero. You just need to get to your Lifepod and use the Fabricator to make yourself some Fins.

Fins in Subnautica are created with 2x Silicone Rubber.

To create Silicone Rubber, you will need just one Creepvine seed cluster, which you can see below.

These are massive plants almost like seaweed that are a luminous red/pink. Simply approach and press your interact button to take the Creepvine seed cluster.

Return to the Fabricator and then choose Resources > Basic Materials > Silicone Rubber to get 2x Silicone Rubber. To make the Fins, just go to Personal > Equipment > Fins.

The Fins will then be automatically equipped and you will be able to enjoy a 15% increase to your swim speed in Subnautica: Below Zero.

Subnautica: Below Zero is available now for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, and Switch.
