Stranger Things Gets Its Own Mobile Game

Stranger Things The Game

Can’t wait for the second season of Stranger Things later in the month? You can take a little bit of nostalgia on the go with you thanks to a new mobile game.

Cannily called Stranger Things the Game, the Netflix hit’s much-smaller-screen adaptation is completely free and devoid of microtransactions – you don’t need to pay extra for blinking lights, thank the Demogorgon. It’s about as retro as you would expect, featuring some charming little sprites and a lovely soundtrack.

Despite being free for iOS and Android, it’s supposedly pretty full of content. According to some reviews, it features plenty of dungeons and characters. It’s a digitised version of the game’s first season in which you get to go Falling Down on the Upside Down.

It may be just a fancier way of promoting the second season of Stranger Things, but it’s a damn sight more effective at its job than the accursed Slashy Souls: the mobile spin-off for Dark Souls. While you try to wash the memories of that turd away, start crossing off the days on your calendar for the return of Stranger Things on October 27th. Oh, and make sure you beat it – there might be a neat extra waiting for you on the other side.
