State Of Play: Resident Evil 3, Ghost Of Tsushima, Babylon’s Fall & More

Some big announcements for a short show.

Resident Evil 3

You’d be forgiven for thinking that all the big announcements this week are going to be confined to The Game Awards, but considering that news of a new Bioshock game has kicked off this week, that theory is invalid. Sony sought to invalidate that theory even further with a 20 minute State of Play video that was filled with announcements. Let’s check them out below.

The Goose Is Loose

It was only a matter of time, but Untitled Goose Game is making its way to PS4 sooner rather than later. The smash hit indie game of 2019 will be available on Sony’s console on December 17th, so if you’re not tired of being a little pest, pick it up next week. The game will also be available on Xbox One.

Spellbreak Is A Magic Battle Royale, Looks Good

You might be suffering from battle royale fatigue, but Spellbreak from Proletariat is a magic based multiplayer experience that looks to offer something unique to the battle royale genre. It’ll launch in Spring 2020, so keep your eyes peeled.

Dreams Has a Release Date

Don’t let your dreams be dreams, though with Dreams, you don’t have to. Media Molecule’s latest offering has been in an early access state for a while now, with players creating a host of varied games with its tools. Now, everyone will be able to experience it on February 14th, 2020.

Superliminal Announced For PS4, Looks Brilliant

Superliminal’s PS4 release was announced during State of Play, looking like a mix between Portal and The Stanley Parable. You’ll be able to use perspective to alter your environment in some interesting ways, and we’d really like to see more when it launches in April 2020, though it is available on PC right now if you can’t wait and have something that can actually run it, unlike my piece of crap laptop.

New Footage Of PSVR Title Paper Beast Revealed

Paper Beast looks like something of an enigma. A PSVR title, you explore an intriguing world filled with unique animals, and can interact with the terrain and animals to solve a host of puzzles. It’s launching during the first quarter of 2020.

Kingdom Hearts 3: ReMind Launches January 23rd

I’ll be honest, I have no idea what’s happening here, but Kingdom Hearts 3: ReMind will introduce new playable characters and more content, so I’m sure fans of the series will have gotten a kick out of this. It launches on January 23rd, 2020.

Predator: Hunting Grounds Out April 24th

Illfonic revealed new gameplay of Predator: Hunting Grounds, showing the alien hunter taking down some human commandos in the Jungle. You can play as different versions of the titular hunter, with different iterations utilising different abilities. It should be a lot of fun when it arrives on April 24th.

Actual Babylon’s Fall Gameplay Shown

Sound the alarm, Babylon’s Fall still exists, and some gameplay was shown of Platinum Games and Square Enix’s collaboration. It most certainly looks like a cross between those two companies, with JRPG characters reminiscent of Square combined with Platinum’s over the top action. More details will be revealed next Summer, so you’ll have to be patient.

Resident Evil 3 Finally Announced, Includes Resistance

The worst kept secret in gaming, Resident Evil 3 was finally announced, and it’s coming in April. As an added bonus, the multiplayer experience Resident Evil Resistance will be included as part of the package, which is definitely an interesting twist. Resident Evil 3 will launch on April 3rd, 2020 for PS4, Xbox One and PC. It’s quite soon for a new announcement, but exciting for fans of the series.

Ghost of Tsushima Footage Showcased

Sucker Punch’s samurai epic was featured right at the end of State of Play, and it was confirmed for a PS4 release. Not much else was shown, but it was mentioned that we’d see more from this game during The Game Awards on Thursday.
