Starfield: Where To Find Neon

Neon
Neon

Neon (or Ne) is an exotic tier 3 resource that you might struggle to find during your playthrough across the galaxy in Starfield. Unlike the other resources, Neon isn’t used as much in crafting recipes, but when you do need it, we’ve got you covered on how to obtain this precious material.

An easy method to acquire Neon is to first visit and scan various planets and moons across the solar systems. Best of all, you can head to a few of these locations early in your playthrough. So whenever you need it early, mid, or late game, there’s a location for everyone. A few places are:

  • Kreet (Narion System)
  • Vectera (Narion System)
  • Procyon III (Procyon A System)
  • Bessel III-b (Bessel System)
  • Andromas III (Andromas System)
  • Celebrai III-a (Celebrai System)
  • Celebrai III-c (Celebrai System)

When you land at one of these locations, you’ll want to explore the surface until you find a Neon seep. Using your hand scanner will make exploring easier, as it will highlight the seep, allowing you to spot this resource from afar.

Once you locate the Neon seep, simply interact with it to get the resource. Be careful not to stand in its aura for too long, as it will damage you over time, which can cause some negative ailments.

Since you’ll only need this resource for a handful of crafting recipes, you can always purchase it from various vendors across the settled systems. A few vendors you can visit early in your playthrough are:

  • Jemison Mercantile (New Atlantis Spaceport)
  • UC Distribution Center (New Atlantis Commercial District)
  • Midtown Minerals (Akila City)
  • Mining League (Neon)

You can also find Neon on corpses or in loot crates while out on your travels. Given its exotic rarity and being at the mercy of the RNG gods, this isn’t a viable method, but more of a boost. Don’t forget to sell any excess Neon to make some extra credits since you won’t need much at all.
