Starfield: Where To Find Dysprosium

Dysprosium
Dysprosium

Dysprosium (or Dy) is an exotic resource that can be hard to find in Starfield’s wide universe. It can be used to craft powerful gear and consumables, invest in research projects, and build structures.

The best way to get Dysprosium is to scan planets and moons that house the resource. Due to the rarity of this resource, there are a limited number of them, but some you can find early in your playthrough are:

  • Voss (Alpha Centauri System)
  • Venus (Sol System)
  • Vega II-b (Vega System)

Dysprosium is located on the surface of any of these locations, so as soon as you land, pull out your hand scanner to spot the resource more easily. As it’s a tier 3 exotic, it won’t be easy to find, so when you do locate the source, you might want to set up an outpost nearby to extract the resource.

This is the best way to keep a frequent supply of Dysprosium for when you need to use it. Set up some storage containers to increase the yield of this resource and make your trips back more worthwhile. You can always sell the excess to make a decent profit.

If you’re lucky enough, you can find some on your travels. The Mantis Lair storage crate, for example, has a few Dysprosium as an additional reward. They can appear on corpses or in crates found throughout Starfield, but this isn’t a reliable method as these drops are random.

Additionally, you can also purchase Dysprosium from various vendors across the solar systems. Some easy-to-access vendors are:

  • Jemison Mercantile (New Atlantis Spaceport)
  • Mining League (Neon)
  • Midtown Minerals (Akila City)

This is a fast, short-term solution that can address any crafting recipes that require Dysprosium to proceed. You can buy it in bulk from all these vendors to make the process easier if you require a substantial amount.
