Seeing as the Nintendo Switch has been on sale for more than two years, it’s hard to believe that there have not currently been any Star Wars games released on the system. That’s all about to change, however, as Zen Studios have announced that they will be releasing Star Wars Pinball on the Switch this September, and it looks like a whole galaxy of fun.

The Switch release will include the entire collection of nineteen tables, which will be themed around different locations seen in the various Star Wars movies and animated TV shows. An assortment of popular characters from the franchise will also make appearances in the game, many of whom can be seen in the trailer above. There will also be a brand new Career mode, which will let you progress though fifty career ranks as either a Jedi or a Sith. And with this being a Star Wars game, you will need to collect Holocron Shards to unlock special Force powers to add to the overall experience. Because the Star Wars franchise is famed for its music, the Cantina Jukebox feature, which lets you listen to all your favorite tunes while browsing the interface menus, is also a welcome addition.

This announcement was made to commemorate the Star Wars Celebration event, which kicks off this week. The sweetest piece of information is that, in addition to being available on the Nintendo eShop, the Switch version of Star Wars Pinball will also receive a physical release. And we all know how obsessive Star Wars collectors can be, so we can expect it to fly off shelves.

Rain will finally fall on the Nintendo Switch’s Star Wars drought when Star Wars Pinball arrives on September 13.
