Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic Remake Confirmed

Look forward to that in like 20 years.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

Lucasfilm Games and Aspyr have announced that the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake is indeed happening, with the game scheduled to launch on PS5 in the future. No release date has been confirmed, but there is a new teaser trailer for you to enjoy.

A PlayStation Blog post reveals more details about the game than a brief teaser trailer ever could, including that the KOTOR Remake will be a timed PS5 console exclusive. As for the game itself, it’s being rebuilt “from the ground up with the latest tech to match the groundbreaking standard of innovation established by the original, all while staying true to its revered story.”

While the remake is early in development at this point, Aspyr notes in their blog post that they’ve assembled a team of veteran RPG developers to work on the game, some of which were presents on the original KOTOR team. Aspyr themselves have cut their teeth on remasters and ports of classic Star Wars games, so a remake like this is a step-up in terms of responsibility. Will the game live up to the hype? We’ll see.
