The title for Star Wars Episode VIII has been revealed today as “The Last Jedi”, in a surprise announcement over on StarWars.com.

Whilst there is yet no confirmation as to whom “The Last Jedi” is actually referring to, it’s interesting to note that the crawl text for The Force Awakens described Luke with this exact phrase. It’s probable, then, that the title’s referring to Luke, though many fans have also pointed out that “Jedi” can be both a plural and singular noun, so the title may be referring to more than one lightsaber-wielding space wizard.

Though there hasn’t been much official information about Episode VIII released yet, we do know that the cast have been doing their homework in preparation for filming, and that it will probably reduce me to a puddle of feelings at least once.
