Earlier this week, Electronic Arts revealed that the Star Wars Battlefront Beta would be available to the awaiting masses October 8th via a multitude of platforms, such as the Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC (Via Origin) and will last until October 12th.

If you are like me then you have been waiting and watching EA’s every move with this game, absorbing all information like a sponge. Today they released more information that should have you all very excited.

On October 7th, a day before the release, PC players will be able to pre-install the beta via Origin, which no doubt will have the PC Master Race very happy, although this comes at a price as the download is 11GB. For the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One it will be around 7GB.

Once the installation is over and you start playing you will be faced with a few restrictions that are normal with any Beta, after reaching level 5 you won’t be able to level up any further, but you will be able to unlock items in the Beta. Anything you do unlock, all your stats and progression will not be carried over to the full game once released.

The Beta will give you access to the following:

Walker Assault on Hoth: Fight in an epic 40-player battle as a rebel to destroy the onslaught of AT-AT’s by calling in Y-Wing Bombers. Or join the darkish with the Empire and protect your walkers while making good use of their mighty weaponry to annihilate the rebels.
Drop Zone on Sullust: Escape pods are crashing down and you and your team must fight to control them, this 8v8 game type will have you bringing out tactics galore and putting your skills to the test.
Survival Mission on Tatooine: Play alone or with a friend via co-op or split-screen holding off waves of imperial forces.

On release there will also be an companion app which can be downloaded through the App Store and Google Play. This will allow players to view in-game stats and offers a game called “Base Command” that unlocks items in Battlefront.
