Listen, I know studios have to milk every drop out of the superhero teat before people wander off and start caring about Brad Pitt movies again, but isn’t this a little much?
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sony are planning on releasing movie spin-offs for Mysterio and Kraven: two Spider-man villains.
Seemingly in a bid to flesh out their Sinister Six, Sony would be adding two new offshoots to the pile, which already includes a ballsy Venom adaptation and the difficult to market Silver Sable & Black Cat.
This ambitious project has been in the works for quite some time now, but the arse fell out from it after the mess that was The Amazing Spider-man 2. With Spidey just coming out of intensive care, can Sony really afford to put it all out there again so soon?
Both movies are a long ways off, though. Here’s hoping someone can slap some sense into Sony before then. I mean, I love Mysterio as much as the next guy who grew up on a steady diet of the Spider-man animated TV show, but don’t we already have Doctor Strange?
