Someone Cut Rogue One’s Ending Into the Beginning of A New Hope

Vader bad guy

How did this not happen sooner? An editor by the name of Barre Fong has achieved the inevitable of splicing together the ending of Rogue One with the beginning of a New Hope to create one long scene of excellence. If you haven’t watched Rogue One yet, obviously do not watch this.

I haven’t seen the film yet (fuck me, right?), but this is the internet and I know what kind of spoiler territory I wade into every time I boot up my computer.

Of course, this wouldn’t work if director Gareth Edwards hadn’t lovingly kept to much of the same palette and style as A New Hope for Rogue One. He clearly took a lot of time to make sure everything synched together just fine – he probably has his own edit of this lying around somewhere.

Rogue One is out on Blu-Ray and home cinema next week. You should expect to see plenty of fans make their own version of this, but also just as many instances where Leia turns around and is instead Nigel Thornberry.
