Sky, The New Game From Journey Developers ThatGameCompany, Looks Beautiful

Sky

It’s been six whole years since we saw the release of Journey, ThatGameCompany’s previous game. ThatGameCompany specializes in games that are simple, but fulfilling and beautiful. Now they’re back with their latest venture, Sky, as they’ve just unveiled 30 minutes of new footage of the game.

Sky was only just announced at last year’s iPhone X event, where it was revealed that it would first be released for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV. However, more platforms are to follow. No release date is confirmed yet.

The probably most notable difference between Sky and Journey is that Sky is also a multiplayer game. You can have up to eight people in the same world at the same time, working together to explore the world and solve puzzles. ThatGameCompany said that they hope the game “promotes compassion, altruism and teamwork within its audience base”.

The gameplay itself seems to lean quite strongly on what we saw in Journey, a third-person adventure where you can interact with the environment.
