If you’ve been plugged into the UK dance music scene over the past few years, odds are good you’ve come into some amount of contact with Mura Masa. Since making himself known on Radio 6 with ‘Firefly’ in 2015, he’s been a mainstay on city festival lineups and has managed to net himself an increasingly impressive collaborative credits, up to and including ASAP Rocky, Stormzy and Charlie XCX.
His debut album is coming out in July, and he’s just given us a taste of it in the form of ‘All Around the World’. Featuring vocals from none other than Desiigner. This is the fifth track he’s released from the LP, and the fifth big featured name after Charlie XCX, Nao, ASAP Rocky and Bonzai. This album is shaping up to be something very special indeed.
The track has some serious bounce to it, perhaps more so than any of the other recent releases, with traces of Jamie XX in the DNA, among other things. I wouldn’t be surprised if this tune ends up acting as the closer in many of his future sets. His self-titled debut comes out on the 14th of July.
