Shu Arriving On PlayStation Vita Plus Free DLC

Shu game

Coatsink’s 2.5D sidescroller has enjoyed great success on Steam and PlayStation 4 since its release in October, and it isn’t hard to see why.

Set in colourful, hand-crafted environments, players guide the eponymous Shu and a host of his friends through each level, utilising special abilities granted by them to Shu through the power of friendship to overcome obstacles or barriers. The objective is simple: Shu and his friends must outrun the end of the world, an unrelenting and all-consuming storm constantly nipping at their heels.

Charming as well as bittersweet, the game is addictive and compelling. PlayStation Vita owners have been eagerly anticipating the version promised for the console for months with no solid news. However, today Coatsink has not only announced a release date for Shu on PS Vita, but also six, all-new DLC levels at no extra cost.

Steam users will see the first three levels – entitled ‘Beneath the Ruins’, ‘No Turning Back’ and ‘Depths of Discovery’ – right now, with a further three DLC levels launching on 23rd May. This coincides with the PS4 release of all six levels, and the long-awaited launch of the Vita edition. Shu’s release for Vita includes the full game and the six DLC levels, but also a platform-exclusive trophy area called The Refuge.

Coatsink state further free DLC will be available for Steam and PS4 throughout 2017, although no word yet as to whether this will extend to the Vita edition.

Shu is available for purchase on PS4 and on Steam.
