Shenmue 3 Won’t Be At E3 2017, Ys Net Confirm On Kickstarter

The nostalgia-funded Shenmue 3 won’t be making an appearance at this year’s E3, according to a Kickstarter update posted by developers Ys Net.

The almost mythical sequel to the cult classic Dreamcast series will not be making an appearance at any game shows, in fact. The developers instead want to focus on the development, which is fair enough:

“While our schedule has yet to be finalised, we will be devoting June to game development and as a result, will unfortunately not be participating in any game shows.

“On the other hand, we look forward to bringing you our monthly updates and hope you do too!”

First confirmed at E3 2015 as a massive surprise during Sony’s conference, only trickles of extra information have been revealed so far. Since the KS campaign kicked off, they’ve rigidly stuck to a release date for this holiday season, though that doesn’t look all that feasible. I would prefer, as many others probably would too, that they take their time with it rather than rushing it to a deadline.
