Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice Might Be Getting DLC

"The one-armed Wolf awakens…"

The typically quiet Sekiro Twitter account has sent fans agog with a cryptic tweet which may be hinting as some DLC for FromSoftware’s punishingly superb stealth Soulslike.

The tweet, the first from the account since September 12th, shows Sekiro gazing out at what appears to be an all-new area* with some very chin-stroking text to accompany it.

“The one-armed Wolf awakens…”

While this is not confirmation, it does seem like something is going down in the Sekiro universe, it being too random a tweet to send out from what is a somewhat dormant Twitter account. It’s all in the ellipsis, man.

News of DLC would run counter to the general perception that Sekiro wouldn’t be getting any, it launching as a complete game.

However, with the broad critical and commercial success for the game, perhaps FromSoftware changed their mind and wanted to give fans another excuse to hate themselves? The Souls games and Bloodborne both received some pretty expansive add-ons, so maybe Sekiro will be following suit.

Personally, if they could release a DLC to cut the final boss down to just one stage, I might actually be able to finish the damned game sometime this decade.

*UPDATE: Yeah, that’s the Dilapidated Temple. I somehow saw a pond on the left. I am due an eye test.

From our Sekiro review:

“Sekiro is a tremendously fun and difficult game — everything from the combat to the world itself is crafted in a masterful way. The only thing I had a minor issue with was the camera: it can be a bit temperamental when you move around quickly sometimes. Even after spending around 40 hours to beat it, I still want to come back for more in the coming weeks.”
