SEGA Mega Drive Classics Launching On May 29th For PS4 & Xbox One

SEGA Mega Drive

File this one under “way to profit from the nostalgia dollar that will work”: SEGA have announced that they’ll be releasing a collection of the best games from the Mega Drive, and it’s called SEGA Mega Drive Classics. Or SEGA Genesis Classics if you live across the pond.

The collection will include 50 of the greatest games from the legendary console, along with a host of new features including Rewind, Mirror Mode and some new visual features to make these old games look fancy on your flatscreen TV. Check out the full list of games below:

  • Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle
  • Alien Soldier
  • Alien Storm
  • Altered Beast
  • Beyond Oasis
  • Bio-Hazard Battle
  • Bonanza Bros.
  • Columns

  • Comix Zone

Though there are plenty of fantastic games in there that stand the test of time, such as Streets of Rage, Virtua Fighter 2, Golden Axe, Alien Soldier and more, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Sonic & Knuckles are shockingly absent. Though Sonic 2 is the best one (and I will fight you if you say otherwise), the fact they’re missing is shocking. Still, for the right price, this is the perfect nostalgia package.
