Sea of Thieves, Crackdown 3 and State of Decay 2 Will Launch As Part of Xbox Game Pass

Xbox Game Pass

If you’re a believer of the whole “console war” debacle, it’s practically a given that the PlayStation is winning the exclusives side of things. But Xbox have just unveiled something that’s unique, innovative and, quite frankly, brilliant. New and exclusive games such as Crackdown 3, Sea of Thieves and State of Decay 2 will be available through the subscription service as and when they launch.

Announced on Twitter by Xbox UK, subscribers will get unlimited access to these new games for just £7.99 a month, or $9.99 a month if you live on the other side of the Atlantic to us tea drinking types.

To give more information about this announcement, Head of Xbox and overall hype man Phil Spencer spoke to Wired to talk about how these changes will affect the console going forward:

Full, persistent ownership of games is still something we want to deliver,” he says. “We know we have customers who want to go to a store, buy a case with a disc in it, and really take ownership of their games.

This is a great deal for any current subscribers to the Game Pass, and it also gives these first party games a guaranteed player base upon launch. I mean, who doesn’t love getting extra games for no additional cost? With each month, the new games added to the library make the Pass better value for money.

The first game that’ll be added to the Game Pass in this way is Sea of Thieves, which will be launching on March 20th. Are you a current Game Pass subscriber who is currently sitting pretty right about now? Is this enough to convince you to subscribe? Sound off in the comments.
