Gaming merchandise is weird. Who can forget that time when Deep Silver released a bizarre collector’s edition bust for Dead Island? On a similarly undead note, Capcom and Numskull have teamed up for what every Resident Evil 2 fan no doubt wants: scented candles that smell like zombies.
The description for the wild bit of merch to coincide with the remake’s launch on January 25th 2019:
“Following the success of Numskull’s official Resident Evil 7 scented candle, this is truly a one of a kind collectible for fans of the world’s best survival-horror franchise.
“With the curious, distinctive scent of the undead, this is an incredibly unique collectible that deserves its place in every fan’s home. Only the bravest of Raccoon City residents light it up while playing Resident Evil 2 for that immersive smell of a deadly zombie horde!”
This is just one of the many pieces of merch from the collaboration between Numskull and Capcom, but it’s certainly the one that sticks out the most. What will it smell like exactly? Rotting flesh? If so, who researched what that actually smells like? Watch out for Numskull, they clearly aren’t right.
