Red Dead Redemption 2 Companion App On The Way

Red Dead Redemption 2 7

Red Dead Redemption 2 is coming out this week, and out of all the things we know, one of the most impressive things is probably the size of the map. Although some might have been wondering what they’d have to do to not get lost in the gargantuan world of the wild west, but Rockstar has us covered.

They just announced a companion app for the game, letting you check your map at all times, even zoom in while you’re riding around, or even mark things on the go. This is especially cool if you’re a fan of playing without a HUD, as you can have all your stats and the lot on your phone instead of having it block parts of the screen.

You can even look at Arthur Morgan’s journal, check out your Rockstar Social Club stats if you want, and if you get really stuck, there’s an optional (but complete and official) guide, to boot.

The app itself will be launching on the same day as the game itself, October 26, for both iOS and Android, so keep your eyes peeled. Especially when you’re waiting for the Day One patch to download, you’ll have time to quickly download the app and get ready to roam the dirt roads of the wild west.

If you’re unsure about whether or not you want to buy the game, you can check out the leaked gameplay, and if you don’t believe that you’ll need the companion app, you might want to check out the map leak just to be sure.
