Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart: How To Get The Void Reactor

The Void Reactor is a weapon in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart that you need to complete the Return Policy trophy, which asks you to Kill 10 Enemies by Returning Shots with the Void Reactor.

The Void Reactor can be unlocked by fully upgrading the Void Repulser to Level 5, at which point it will become the Void Reactor. To level up your weapons, simply use them over and over again on enemies — you can check the bar in the top right to see your progress.

The Void Repulser can be purchased for the first time for 17,500 Bolts after completing the Lorbs side mission on Savali.

The weapon acts as a shield that can also be use to repel enemies by blasting the shield at them. It works best at close distances until you can upgrade it to be better at all ranges.

The Reactor is an even more powerful version that will soak up enemy projectiles and then add them to you shield attack. The purple dots on your shield signify that you are absorbing damage.

However, actually using these projectiles for the Return Policy trophy is a little on the finicky side. We felt we’d killed 50 enemies with the projectiles and the trophy simply wasn’t popping.

The trophy seems to want you to hoover up loads of projectiles until your shield turns completely purple, after which you can then shoot the projectiles. Make sure you keep your distance when pressing R2 so that it’s not your shield that hits enemies.

If you’ve already completed the story, there aren’t actually many enemies left who use projectiles for you to fight. Instead, try and complete this trophy in the Welcoming Committee stage of the Bronze Cup at Zurkie’s, or start a challenge save, which will luckily allow you to use the Void Reactor from the off.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is available now exclusively for the PS5.
