You may remember that Sony announced the Play at Home Initiative last April and gave away Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Journey for a limited time only. This year, they have announced that 2016’s Ratchet and Clank will be available for free on PS4, as well as a subscription to the Funimation app.
On the PlayStation Blog, Jim Ryan, SIE President, stated: “PlayStation wanted to thank the community by giving something back” before adding “we could all use something to look forward to and another reason to stay safely socially distanced”.
When Can I Download Ratchet & Clank?
Insomniac’s remake of Ratchet and Clank will be available from March 1st and downloadable for free for the entire month.
What About Funimation?
Sony also announced that they’ll be making a subscription to anime streaming service Funimation free from March 25th, though full details of how long this subscription will be for has not yet been announced. Sony is expected to make further announcements on free games and services coming soon.
In other news, Jim Ryan also announced that the long awaited driving sim sequel Gran Turismo 7 has been delayed due to Covid-19.
