PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Leaving Steam Early Access December 20th

PUBG

One of the biggest hitters of 2017 wasn’t exempt from the announcement Armageddon that was The Game Awards, as PUBG got its own trailer showcasing the new Desert map Miramar, but it was the last few seconds that were more important: PUBG is leaving Steam Early Access.

The trailer, which you can view with your eyes below if you like, is basically a show-reel for the insane action that PUBG creates on a regular basis, with some shots dedicated to the new map. At the end, we can see the announcement that the game will leave Early Access on December 20th 2017, fulfilling Bluehole’s promise that the game would receive a full launch on PC by the end of the year. They cut it close, mind you. Reminds me of ALL my university assignments.

The developers have already gone into detail about Miramar in separate announcements throughout the week, which we’ve complied for you here. Suffice to say, the new map could change the way PUBG is played, with the new terrain, equipment and vehicles forcing you to alter tactics to survive.

Test servers for the new map should be online right about now, so if you’re jonesing for some sandy crevices, Miramar is merely an airdrop away. The new map won’t quite be ready for the Xbox Launch on Game Preview on December 12th however, though we doubt PUBG Corp., the Bluehole subsidiary dedicated to all things Battlegrounds, will leave console players out in the cold for too long.
