It was announced at E3 2019 that Double Fine would be joining the growing roster at Xbox Game Studios alongside a new gameplay trailer for Psychonauts 2, though there’s still no release date in sight for it.
Despite the obvious concern for its status on other platforms, Double Fine were quick to reassure fans that Psychonauts 2 would still be making its way to everything they had previously promised — including PlayStation 4.

It’s curious that it hasn’t been announced for Switch yet, but as Nintendo and Microsoft seem to be pretty good chums now, it’s not out of the realms of possibility for it to happen sometime down the line. Microsoft have acquired the publishing rights to the game from the embattled Starbreeze.
A similar story came from E3 last year when Microsoft announced they had snapped up Obsidian Entertainment, developers of Outer Worlds. Despite the acquisition, the game is still scheduled to launch for PC, Xbox One and PS4 later this year, which will also see it clashing with Modern Warfare and MediEvil.
