Browsing the PlayStation Store is like pulling teeth sometimes. It’s not always as speedy as it should really be, not helped by the clunky search interface that has a vertical autofill. You have to scroll through the alphabet and wait for the search to catch up before you can input a new letter — it’s very 2013.

Finally, it looks like it’s on its way out. A ResetEra (via GearNuke) member who is part of the PS4 Firmware Update 6.00 Beta 3 program discovered that a small change has been made to allow players to simply choose from an on-screen keyboard, just as if you were writing a message.

Much better, especially now you can search by genre and publisher. It’s unclear whether you can filter it down even further to exclude things like movies and DLC, though we’ll know more when the update goes public. You won’t be able to see this change for yourself unless you were accepted to be a part of the beta program.

Now, if only there was a way to change to only de-clutter the items in the TV folder. I really don’t need Now TV, Sony. Just let me have Netflix on the home screen without having to go into a folder and be done with it.
