So the time has finally arrived for Sony to shake up the Playstation Experience yet again.

New updates launched today see the ability to ‘appear offline’, a new ‘User Scheduled Event’ and an all new ‘Remote Play’ function.

The more anti-social function of the updates allows the player to hide in plain while playing games by appearing ‘Offline’. Now we can all ignore our friends without having to hurt their feelings. It’s a rather long awaited and simple function that players have yearned for.

To appear offline is rather simple, go onto your own PSN profile, and the option is found just under your name. Now go and hide from all your friends, I’d do the same. But I don’t have any.

Should you be lucky enough to have friends though, you can now schedule events with them. Tired of setting a place and time with your mates on whatsapp? Forget it. Want to play Warframe and go for those Boltor Prime parts with the crew? Covered. Name the date and time and PSN will automatically invite your friends to join you. Easy. I do hope no one will be appearing offline though…

And finally Playstation Remote Play sees a major overhaul, with Xbox One utilising the Windows 10 remote play feature, Sony is going one step further and allows you to now stream your console gameplay goodness to a MAC or PC running Windows 8.1, Windows 10 or later, OS X 10.10, OS X 10.11. This feature works in the same way as the PS VITA; you must have your console on or in rest mode to use it. That’s if you were one of the seven people who bought a VITA. Six, excluding myself.

Some other small changes see a Teen Account creation which is an offline account and is monitored with parental controls. You can tag friends in your gaming activities via social media & you can also broadcast to Dailymotion. Or like me you can just appear offline.

Here’s a website to help you get the Remote Play feature installed on your PC or MAC.
