Pokemon Go Cheaters Will Now Get Banned

If you’re on of those types who is gaming Pokemon Go by using GPS glitches to trick the game into thinking you’re exercising, not only do I think you’re a terrible butthole, but now Niantic do too. If they find you cheating in Pokemon Go, you’re going to get banned from now on.

In a statement, Niantic said:

“Trainers.

“After reviewing many reports of in-game cheating, we have started taking action against players taking unfair advantage of and abusing Pokémon Go. Moving forward, we will continue to terminate accounts that show clear signs of cheating.

“Our main priority with Pokémon Go is to provide a fair, fun, and legitimate game experience for all players. If our system has determined that you cheated, then you will receive an email stating that your account has been terminated.”

So, if you log in and find your nefarious nonsense has reaped a ban for you, you only have yourself to blame. If you don’t think you have done anything wrong and are still banned, you might need to contact Niantic support, but considering it’s like a UN meeting over there at all times, you might need a bit of patience.

It was only earlier in the week that we realised Pokemon Go gyms could be kept forever by using eggs; whether or not that falls under the same umbrella, we don’t know.

Pokemon Go, just in case you’ve been living in Fallujah for two months, is a phenomenon. Although people are still playing it, the hype has died down considerably, possibly because of the game’s many issues. Here’s hoping as well as bringing down the banhammer, Niantic can work on adding some new features to Pokemon Go soon. Hell, maybe one day it will actually resemble its original concept.
