Welcome to the maiden flight of a brand new feature. Since we’re down with the kids and that, we’ve decided to start making more active use of our Spotify profile, and that can only mean one thing – playlists. All of the playlists. Each Wednesday, we’ll drop a new playlist fitted to a theme, compiled either by yours truly or a guest.
This week, to celebrate the recent release of the mind-blowing soundtrack from Netflix’s storming 80s tribute, Stranger Things, I’ve put together a 13-track rundown of music which played some role in the development of that amazing, synth driven, atmosphere-dripping score. It’s a mixture of the kind of early electronic work which played a big role in the development of that style, more recent soundtrack and instrumental pieces which followed a similar path, some earlier work by S U R V I V E, the band who composed the score and a few tracks which were actually integral to the show’s narrative.
