PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Is Already A Massive Success

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds

Seemingly overnight, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds became one of the most popular games on the market. Appearing out of almost nowhere, it’s the most buzzed about new IP right now, quickly adopting a lot of disenfranchised H1Z1: King of the Kill fans.

The battle royale is also a gigantic success on Steam, where it sits pretty on the homepage with an average of 150,000 people watching streams of it at any given time. With stats like that, it should be no surprise that it’s reflected in sales.

Just two weeks after launching, the Early Access title has already sold over one million copies. Considering the size of the developer and its lack of traditional marketing, that’s absolutely crazy.

A full release for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is expected later in the year. For now, you can dip into the game that was atop the Steam sales charts for two whole weeks as an Early Access and bide your time.
