Patreon Currently Facing Issues with “Failed” Payments

A number of Patreon supporters have recently received news that their monthly pledges failed to go through this month, despite sufficient funds in their accounts.

Supporters received an e-mail which said the following:

Sorry! We had an issue trying to process your pledge on Patreon. No charges were processed on your account. This can sometimes happen if your card is expired, no longer valid, has insufficient funds, or you deleted your payment information with us. If you’d like to update your payment info so we can properly process your pledge, please visit your pending pledges page through the button below.
There’s an easy fix for this problem, luckily. Within the e-mail is a button that takes you to your Payment Settings: manually retrying the payment should force it to go through as usual, via your normal bank or PayPal account. So far there’s been no official word from Patreon on this error, but we’ll keep you updated as more information is released. There currently do not appear to be any safety or security issues linked to this error.
