Pac vs. Ospreay Dream Match Set For February 2019

The man that WWE forgot will be taking on Will Ospreay next year.

The man that 205 Live forgot made his triumphant return to the independent scene a few months back, making a surprise appearance in a promotion that he’s had plenty of history with – Dragon Gate. Having a long-running relationship with the lesser-known Japanese company, it’s no surprise that he chose to make his dramatic comeback with the guys that originally gave Pac a break before his infamous run with NXT and WWE.

Now that his toes are well and truly dipped back into the indie scene, it was only a matter of time before he’d be called back to his home country for some of the UK’s biggest promotions. The first that seems to have snapped him up with regularly scheduled appearances is Revolution Pro Wrestling. Pac made his UK re-debut in Portsmouth just over a fortnight ago, facing Speedball Mike Bailey in what was a fantastic bout. Pac is well and truly wrestling at his peak right now, bringing that passion that was almost lost whilst in his WWE tenure.

Of course, everyone has their dream opponents for the artist formally known as Mighty Mouse, but RPW have booked what could possibly be the dream match of the year. Pac is set to face none other than Will Ospreay at High Stakes this coming February.

What makes this match so mouth-watering is how both of these men have teased an eventual appearance for years. Ever since WWE confirmed the release of Neville last year, Ospreay has been dropping hints almost everywhere he could to try and bring Pac out of his lair in Newcastle. Even if we were left waiting for over a year, it’s certainly a concept that has had enough hype built around it to warrant a sell-out show.

RPW has hosted a plethora of dream matches at York Hall, including the fantastic show of technicality between Zack Sabre Jr. and Kurt Angle, and more recently, a British Heavyweight title bout between Tomohiro Ishiii and Walter. Pac/Ospreay is going to be one that nobody should sleep on: I believe with the growing sentiment of the British independent scene suffering with the poaching of NXT UK stars, both of these men are going to put it all on the line to make a 5* classic.

High Stakes has reportedly sold out within hours of the pre-sale tickets becoming available. So if you were one of the lucky people to secure tickets then know that there’s a part of me that dislikes you. For the rest of us, be ready on Demand Rev Pro for this belter.
