The Xbox One X appears to be off to a great start as not only has the console had strong sales, but developers are showing their support for 4K. Blizzard’s popular shooter Overwatch is one of the latest games to be announced as receiving the bumped up visual treatment for the Xbox One X.
The news comes as other titles such as Destiny 2, Assassins Creed Origins, and Rise of The Tomb Raider will enable 4K resolution on the recently released consoles.
Blizzard, speaking to Windows Central, said: “Overwatch team is excited with great possibilities Xbox One X opens. The team is currently exploring how the game experience can be enhanced on this platform to leverage the console’s incredible hardware, and is working on implementing 4K resolution in the game on Xbox One X. It is very important for the team to make sure the user interface looks natural on a truly big screen. We will share more details about our plans for 4K support on Xbox One X later.”
As a fan of high definition visuals, I am excited by the news that more games will be offering 4K, especially one as popular as Overwatch. What are you thoughts on this announcement? Be sure to leave a comment below.
