Open World Adventure One Piece: World Seeker Coming Next Year

Although it doesn’t yet have an exact release date, we now know the Bandai Namco’s upcoming open world adventure One Piece: World Seeker will be heading to Europe and North America next year in addition to its already confirmed Japanese release.

Based on the insanely popular manga franchise, One Piece: World Seeker will see longtime protagonist Monkey D. Luffy embarking on an all new adventure in a gigantic, seamless world. We can see from the early screenshots that master swordsman Roronoa Zoro will also be showing up.

To give you an idea of the size and scale of One Piece: World Seeker, Bandai Namco Entertainment America Brand Manager Randy Le promised that it would offer an “adventure as vast as the seven seas.” Which sounds epic enough to make One Piece fans need new pants.

Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece manga series has been phenomenally successful since it launched twenty years ago, with over 430 million copies being sold to date. There have already been a ton of games in the franchise, so it was only a matter of time before the series finally went open world.

One Piece: World Seeker looks like it could be the franchise’s Breath of the Wild, so we’ll just have to wait until next year to see if it lives up to the hype.
