The official trailer for Zombieland: Double Tap has come to bless our screens, and we couldn’t be more excited, especially since we had to wait 10 years for this sequel. Amidst all the pointless remakes and sequels that we have in our current movie landscape, Zombieland: Double Tap is certainly not one of them. Time, effort and thought has gone into the making of this movie, which is clear to see given how the trailer itself is already so hilarious.
The all-star cast of Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Abigail Breslin and Emma Stone are back, and their chemistry is just as electric as before; it’s as if those 10 years never happened. It is gratifying to see them make time for this project, given how all of them have gone on to have illustrious careers in Hollywood; Emma Stone won an Academy Award for La La Land and the rest are Oscar nominees. According to Columbia Pictures president Sanford Panitch, the actors’ eagerness to come on board for the project is “because they love these characters”.
It is truly a labour of love, especially since we have the original director Ruben Fleischer, with writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese back as well. Fleischer directed Sony Pictures’ Venom, which was released last year, while Wernick and Reese have been working on the extremely successful Deadpool franchise.
Zombieland: Double Tap will be in theatres October 18, 2019.
