Nintendo’s upcoming codename NX system may be a portable console with detached controllers, sources have told Eurogamer. The sources claim that the NX has a built-in screen (with two built-in controllers) which allows it to function as a portable gaming console, in addition to being able to connect to televisions and be played via two wireless controllers.
This comes after the widely published rumour that the NX could be cartridge-based instead of using discs. And there’s still no word on how powerful the system will be, but knowing Nintendo, it’s likely to be well behind the competition. Sigh.
With the NX launching in March 2017, we probably don’t have long to wait until an official reveal.
