Nier Replicant’s Extra Content Will Include Automata Character Swaps

The time is Nier.

Nier Replicant

Nier Replicant, the remake of one of the PS3/Xbox 360 era’s most underrated and enjoyable RPGs, is launching this week on PS4, Xbox One and PC, and today, Square Enix have published an extra features trailer which showcases some of the additional content coming to the game. You can check out the trailer at the top of the page.

What Extra Content Can We Look Forward To?

The extra content showcased in the trailer includes a brand new episode, titled Mermaid, which looks like it could be an adaptation of The Little Mermaid, one of 10 novellas that formed part of the Japan exclusive book Grimoire Nier. The book was designed to flesh out the world of Nier even further, so it’s good to see parts of that content being incorporated into the game.

Also included is 15 Nightmares, which was a DLC released for the previous version of Nier that was known as The World of Recycled Vessel. It’s here where fans of the original Western version should get a kick, as you play as the older version of the protagonist. There’s also new costume sets, including Kabuki and Samurai, along with the ability to swap the main character and Kaine to that of 2B and 9S from Nier Automata, complete with full voice over from the original cast.
