Next Professor Layton Game To Release Worldwide in July

A still of Lady Layton

Level-5 have just announced that the next instalment in the Professor Layton series–Layton’s Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaire’s Conspiracy–will release worldwide on iOS/Android in July of this year.

The game is set to release on July 20th of this year, so you only have a couple more months to wait until you can solve puzzles with Lady Layton. So far there’s no release date for the game on 3DS (unless you live in Japan and/or speak Japanese, in which case it’ll also be out on July 20th as well) but Level-5 have claimed that 3DS localisation is planned for other regions sometime after the initial launch date.

The game will release in English, French, Italian, Spanish, German, Dutch, Korean, and Japanese for iOS/Android on launch.

Some players have been skeptical about a Layton game on mobile platforms, especially as the game will reportedly use microtransactions, but Level-5 have claimed that the game will be playable from start to finish without the need for any additional purchases.
