New Venom Trailer Actually Brings The Symbiote This Time

We’ve already had the briefest of glimpses at Sony’s new, somewhat strange adaptation of Venom: arguably Spider-Man’s greatest enemy.

The initial teaser trailer was more of just an establishing one that certified that, yep, Tom Hardy is doing this and yep, Sony are going all in on somehow turning one of Marvel’s best villains into an anti-hero.

Now, though, we have our first proper look at Hardy, symbiote and all, in the new trailer below.

“One of Marvel’s most enigmatic, complex and badass characters comes to the big screen, starring Academy Award® nominated actor Tom Hardy as the lethal protector Venom.”

Hardy will play Eddie Brock, a reporter who becomes entangled (quite literally) in the machinations of a corporation who want to use symbiotes for human progress. After the symbiote takes a liking to him, it looks like Brock will have to run for his life — and Venom’s.

What’s worth bearing in mind here is that it will have absolutely nothing to do with the MCU. Tom Holland reportedly won’t be donning his suit as Spider-Man for the movie, neither will it have any wider implications for Captain America and his merry brigade.

Venom lands in cinemas on October 5th, 2018. Will you be watching it? Sound off below.
