Watch This Intense New Halloween Clip

Halloween 2018 1

A gritty and dark scene from Halloween 2018 has been released online earlier today and, as intense as it seems, it’s only an extension of what we’ve seen in the trailers, coupled with the new score by John Carpenter, Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies.

There have recently been five TV spots, Entertainment Weekly’s Halloween issue arrives in stores today, and now this. Excited as I am, I’m not sure how Halloween will keep some of its surprises for the theatrical experience. I’m avoiding spoilers, reviews, everything that gives out more than what we already know about this latest sequel.

I do have one question, regarding the clip. Laurie comes down the stairs with a shotgun and we know from the trailers she’s been practicing. I can understand her shutting and locking the door, but why didn’t she at least try and take a shot while she had the chance? I have to see the full movie and know more about what’s going on before I can actually judge it, but it seems like an interesting moment where they could have had her trying to shoot Michael as he was turning his head in her direction and walking towards her. Perhaps it’s because, in this clip, she’s not alone in the house. Maybe she was giving Karen time to get down the stairs before she made a move or something. Laurie should recall Michael put his hand through a door in 1978.

Don’t get me wrong, I am beyond words excited for this movie and I hope it’ll be excellent. I just have questions already, is all. It’s an intense moment, especially the last few seconds and what we only hear but cannot see, until the film gets it October 19th release. Let’s hope Halloween breaks box office records and revitalizes the slasher sub-genre, as well as the Halloween franchise.
